Life is a highway...: October 2007

During this trip back to Spore, I also managed to 'wriggle' a trip to Perth! Hehe....went there to pick my cousin up....Yup! I went back to my role of 'glorified' courier woman! Hehe...no lah, cousin is pregnant and was supposed to travel back on her own, not safe mah, so since I was free, I decided to fly there and accompany her back...and also take the opportunity to visit Perth.... :)

I arrived in the wee hours of the morning.....It was nice and cold....fresh fresh air....first glimpse of Perth right out of the airport...

After putting my luggage down, one of the first places we went to was the Margaret River Chocolate Company.....

Was afraid that it wasn't opened yet as it was still very early in the morning...but luckily it was....we were their first customers for the day! Hehe....

Check out the chocolates man!! Phoa.....I was in heaven!!!

Free chocolates for sampling somemore....phew....stress..... :P

What to choose...what to buy....hhmmm..... My cousin and her hubby helping me decide....

We also visited a vineyard....but 'cos it wasn't the right season, the vines were all bare....quite scary looking actually...hehe....

Even the seating area outside the wine cafe was also bare.....looked like an abandoned place....hehe...

There was a tree that really stood out and caught my attention, I thought it was really pretty and kinda made me wish that I had mat so that I could spread out and just lie beneath it....isn't it pretty?

We also went to Fremantle to check out the market.... Bought some honey to soothe my itchy throat.....

Caught sight of this cute little garden as we were walking towards the market....there were so many ornaments and statuettes.....like having a garden party...hehe....

Also caught sight of a public toilet...not just a normal public toilet...but a rather high tech machine operated one....

Somehow the doors opened when I walked past....so I snapped a picture of the inside...hehe...

We went by the Harbour to check out the seafood...thought we didn't eat any...

Check this out....Healthiest fish & chips and Heart Foundation approved oil....maybe I should have had that for dinner....hhmmmm....

Went to this quaint little cafe called Ms Maude Swedish Pasteries & Eatery (I think that's what it's called...) and satisfied my craving for scones....it was yummy...

And their menu was quite cute.... you can choose to have exiting sandwiches or boring sandwiches...hehe....

Oh and I had a really 'funny' experience at one of the KFC outlets.....we wanted to just pig out one night and so we drove out to the city get some KFC chicken..... Went in and started to order our chicken....and the girl behind the counter said that they didn't have any chicken....I was like "WHAT? You're joking right?" Seriously thinking that she was kidding me and giving me a sacarstic reply....because I could see chickeny stuff on the hot tray thingy....but really, they didn't have chicken! Or rather they ran chicken pieces and had only those popcorn chicken and chicken fillets left.....I mean...What are the chances of KFC running out of chicken!?!?!? Amazing....my cousin & I just couldn't believe it and we walked out still looking bewildered...hehe....

Although I was only there for a couple of days, I had a nice time with my cousin and her hubby.....But the weather wasn't the best...rained a lot and it was mighty cold! Lucky we drove around most of the time so managed to stay out of the rain.... :)
